Cómo funciona esta calculadora

Purchase area = (room area x waste factor) + (stairs x carpet per stair). Roll length = round up[(purchase area / roll width), nearest 0.1 m].

A 4 m x 3 m room with 10% waste needs 13.2 m2. From a 4 m wide roll, order 3.3 m of roll length.

The room is treated as a single rectangle; seams, pattern matching, and closets are not modeled - add waste or measure separately for irregular rooms.
The roll-width figure assumes the full roll width is usable; border trimming reduces usable width slightly.
The stair allowance is a general average; winders, half-landings, and wide stairs need more.

Why does roll length round to 0.1 m?

Carpet is cut to length from the roll, not sold in fractional millimeters, so the order length rounds up to the nearest practical cut.

What if my room is wider than the roll?

A seam is needed. This calculator estimates the linear roll length required; seam placement and pattern matching are a fitter decision.

How much extra should I add for stairs?

A commonly used average is about 0.6-0.7 m2 per standard stair; winders or unusually wide stairs need more - adjust the field before calculating.
